Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your use of the Novaz website and our apps, including Authenticator App - Novaz and our other apps as they launch (together, the “Services”), so please read them carefully. Our Privacy Policy also applies to your use of the Services.

By using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Services. If you are using the Services on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization, and “you” refers to that organization.

We may revise these Terms from time to time. Changes may be posted within our apps or on this page, so please check back regularly. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.

The Services

Novaz builds simple, private apps for your security and everyday life. Authenticator App - Novaz is a two-factor authentication (2FA) app that generates time-based one-time passwords (TOTP) to help you sign in to third-party services. Our websites provide information about our apps and, in some cases, setup guides.

Your responsibilities

  • You may use the Services only if you are 13 years or older and are not barred from doing so under applicable law.
  • You are responsible for your data and backups. Content you create in our apps (such as your 2FA secrets) is stored on your device and is not accessible to us. We cannot recover it if you lose access to your device. You are responsible for keeping your own backups — for example the recovery/backup codes from each service — and for securing your device.
  • You are responsible for how you use the Services and for complying with the terms of any third-party services you use them with.

Purchases and subscriptions

Our apps are distributed through the Apple App Store. If any paid features or auto-renewing subscriptions are offered, payment is processed by Apple, and any free trials, renewals, cancellations, and refunds are subject to Apple’s terms. You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in your Apple account’s subscription settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Intellectual property

Novaz and its licensors own the Services, including all associated intellectual property rights. The Services are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Services for your own personal or internal business purposes in accordance with these Terms.

All third-party product names, logos, and trademarks referenced in our apps or guides are the property of their respective owners and are used for identification only. Novaz is not affiliated with or endorsed by those services.

Acceptable use

You agree not to — or attempt to — do any of the following:

  • probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any Novaz system, or breach any security or authentication measures;
  • access, tamper with, or use non-public areas of the Services or our providers’ systems;
  • decipher, decompile, disassemble, or reverse engineer any software used to provide the Services, except to the extent permitted by applicable law;
  • interfere with the access of any user, host, or network, including by sending a virus, overloading, flooding, or spamming the Services;
  • use the Services to distribute malware or unsolicited messages;
  • impersonate any person or entity, or violate the rights of others;
  • violate any applicable law or regulation, or encourage anyone else to do any of the above.

Termination

You may stop using the Services at any time by uninstalling our apps. We may suspend or terminate your access, at our discretion, if you do not comply with these Terms or use the Services in a way that could cause legal liability or disrupt others. Because your app data is stored on your device, uninstalling an app or losing device access may result in loss of that data.

Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY SETUP GUIDES ARE COMPLETE OR ACCURATE FOR EVERY SERVICE.

Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NOVAZ WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF ACCESS TO ACCOUNTS, OR LOSS OF PROFITS OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SERVICES. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THESE LIMITATIONS, SO THEY MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Novaz and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or connected with your use of the Services or your violation of these Terms.

Governing law

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to them will be governed by the laws applicable to Novaz, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.

General

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Novaz regarding the Services. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. Our failure to enforce any right or provision is not a waiver of that right. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them freely.
